IE7 Text Fuzzy

I’m always wary of doing updates early on in a Microsoft product’s lifespan. I like to give it a while for niggles to be worked out. Seeing Firefox is my main browser though I decided it would be OK to install IE7 to see what all the fuss was about.
To me it seems like Microsoft have copied all the ideas that has made so many users default to Firefox recently. Tabbed browsing, search in the toolbar, RSS signup etc. I like it a lot.
One thing was getting to me though. I thought I was going to need an eye test. Suddenly all the web pages I looked at had fuzzy text on them. Not only that but emails I was receiving in MS Outlook were also fuzzy. Luckily though it turns out it’s just something called Cleartype. To switch it off go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced then uncheck the box that says enable Cleartype for HTML. Then restart your browser and everything goes back to normal. I can stop rubbing my eyes and enjoy the fact that MS now have another cutting edge browser.
